Event Details:
Our store plans to show our support for fair trade by:
putting up posters about fair trade and having literature from fair trade companies, such as A Greater Gift, where it will be easily seen and hopefully read;
making a display of the fair trade products we sell and explaining to customers about their origins;
giving each child a package containing a piece of fair trade chocolate, a postcard with a picture drawn by a child whose family has been helped by fair trade employment, a data sheet about a child whose family has been helped by fair trade employment, some paper made from elephant dung, and a small handmade woven bag;
playing a CD of music by musicians from fair trade areas, such as where chocolate is harvested;
brewing fair trade coffee for the parents;
offering whole grain organic cookies;
giving each parent a package with a piece of fair trade chocolate and/or fair trade tea.
We hope this will make our customers more aware of the need for fair trade in the world.
