Event Details:
UUCA will be promoting World Fair Trade Day with the Common Grounds Coffeehouse series performance of Rob Foster and Friends: Bamboo, Bebop, and Beyond.  Rob Foster will take the audience on a journey through many diverse musical worlds utilizing an assortment of woodwind instruments including the shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute), the EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument), and a mixture of flutes and saxophones. Joining Rob will be a number of outstanding musicians including: Josef Patchen, piano; Deveran Roof, acoustic and electric bass, and ehru; and Curtis Carver, drums and percussion.

The Coffeehouse will also offer Fair Trade organic, shade-grown coffee and tea by the cup and by the package.  Also available will be six varieties of organic kosher chocolate bars. New to the Fair Trade lineup are dried cranberries, roasted pecans, and toasted almonds from U.S. cooperatives. Pick up literature on Fair Trade or sign a postcard to send to local businesses asking them to stock fair trade items.
