Kids' Fair Trade Messages
Kids from all over the world are celebrating World Fair Trade Day.

Artisan Hut works with more than 250 low-income producers in Bangladesh, particularly in rural areas such as Narshingdi, Jhenaidha or Sirajgani. Many of these producers have over 20 years of experience in traditional handicrafts, with skills ranging from weaving and spinning to block printing and embroidery. Their products are created by hand and dyed without the use of harmful azo colourants. People Tree and Artisan Hut have launched a social development fund to improve the lives of these artisans and their families. Here are the children of these producers reminding us to celebrate World Fair Trade Day!

Kumbeshwar Technical School (KTS), based in Kathmandu, Nepal, is an educational and vocational training institute catering to the needs of low income families. Fair Trade enables 150 women to have a stable income through knitting and 250 children to receive free schooling. People Tree funds 50% of KTS's Primary School Expenses.

Raihan Ali from Thanapara Swallows Development Society in rural Bangladesh at last years World Fair Trade Day in Tokyo said to the many who had come to celebrate "You are changing our people's lives, thank you". He was talking about how Fair Trade has been so effective in helping lift his community out of poverty. Thanapara Swallows provides training and much needed work for women in rural bangladesh.
