World Fair Trade Day has inspired us to create a documentary about our local handicrafts artisans and their workshops, in order to showcase their artistry and the proud traditions of olive wood sculpture, ceramic, and mother of pearl inlay in Palestine, and to demonstrate the positive impact that the Fair Trade movement can have on this otherwise threatened artistic culture. It's still very much a work in progress, but by the 10th we'll post some still photos and articles about Fair Trade in Palestine on our website, and we'll keep you posted on our documentary's progress!
