Namaste! We are pleased to inform you that we celebrated World Fair Trade Day 2007 on 9 May. We had a pleasant interaction with producers and staffs. We gave a brief information session on Fair Trade, IFAT and Fair Trade Group Nepal and KTS.

For the occasion we held an internal design competitions in which knitwear producers made mini socks, giant sweater and cap with 15cm X 15cm swatches.

The product will be sent to Fair Trade Company, Japan for the judgment by Safia Minney, Chair of Fair Trade Company Japan. KTS will provide cash prize and certificates for first, second and third winners.

We are also pleased to inform you that we have successfully conducted free health check up and treatment camp especially for our producer on 12th May to Mark the World Fair Trade Day 2007, at school premises.

Dr Sushila Shrestha - Chief Consultant in Gynae & Obs and Dr. Reenu Awale (MBBS Medical Officer were the practicing doctors during this health camp.Senior Nurse Mrs. Durga Laxmi Mulmi and our knitwear producer with medical assistant training Sangita Bajaracharya & Hera bajaracharya assitsted in the health camp. School management provided free medicine for all the patient with support from Kumbeshwar Trading Centre.

The children at KTS' school took part in a drawing competition in which they illustrated their understanding of Fair Trade here they are at school drawing, and here are some of their great pictures.
