Fair Trade and Ecology

Sana Hastakala celebrated Word Fair Trade Day 2008 by organizing Interaction program on… Fair Trade and Ecology… on 10th May 2008. The program was attended by 79 participants mostly producers and staff of Sana Hastakala , students from college and volunteers from FTG Nepal and NGO Forum. During the program, Mr. Tri Ratna Manadhar , program officer of NGO Forum presented the need and ways of Rain Water Preservation, wetland conservation and making bio gas . Executive Director Mr. Chandra Prasad Kachhipati shade light on the topic of this year “Fair Trade for our World” and explained about the role of Fair Trade in Economic sustainability and different ways how Fair Trade can protect environment. The volunteers of NGO Forum demonstrated and explained the way of Rain Water preservation and Waste management. Most of the women producers came in Green outfits to symbolized Environmental consciousness.
