World Fair Trade Day celebrations in 2008 will focus on ecology.

For us it is the time to think again about the planet, our mindsets and our responsibilities. We realize strongly that we can do much more at our level to save the environment and to preserve the resources for future generations. With the alarming realities such as drastic climate changes,
water scarcity bringing suffering to all of us, now is the time to think and act together.

Let us start from our homes, workplaces and communities, lets work to bring about positive changes. As fair traders, we will focus more on developing eco-friendly products and processes. We will try to track down the journey of our products to understand their environmental impacts. Also, let us speak to all our stakeholders and friends about the environmental angle of their activities.

We should also look into macro level issues such as water scarcity and air pollution to which we can find solutions along with our fellow citizens. Let us save water, save energy and ensure that we consume responsibly.
